We have more great news. A Letter of Intent (LOI) has been signed between Thermaiscan and Mazumdar Shaw Medical Foundation – Technology Business Incubator (MSMF-TBI) in Bengaluru, India, which is established to provide philanthropy support, medical outreach and translational research. The intention of the LOI is to perform research and clinical validations in their Corporate Hospital-based Startup Incubator.

The LOI is a testament to the power of community in India. We are extremely thankful to India-Sweden Healthcare Innovation Center with Harika Garapati & Dolly Berry, who represents Business Sweden in India. They introduced us to Mukesh Sharma at Menterra Venture Advisors, who then helped us to reach Dr Sherin James and Kiran Vuppala at MSMF – that were positive towards the Thermaiscan Breast Cancer Pre-Screening solution.

This is Mazumdar Shaw Medical Foundation – Technology Business Incubator

MSMF-TBI has been actively involved in promoting innovations and entrepreneurship across India, by creating an enabling platform for startups and entrepreneurs to build scalable and sustainable ventures. MSMF-TBI has incubated more than 30+ healthcare startups.

Recently they were selected for Startup India Seed Fund Scheme from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade to support early stage startups.

The MSMF-Technology Business Incubator is India’s first corporate hospital based start-up incubator created in 2016, with support from the Department of Science and Technology. The “International Centre for Innovation, Technology transfer and Entrepreneurship” was established with the help of DST and in 2019, MSMF was awarded BIRAC – BioNEST status from the Department of BioTechnology.

MSMF is nested within the Narayana Health City in Bengaluru. Mazumdar Shaw Medical Foundation was established to provide opportunities for Entrepreneurs, Startups, Innovators, Researchers/Scientists, Clinicians and Philanthropists to contribute to shaping the healthcare of the future and making it accessible to marginalized communities in India.

Thermaiscan – Predictive medicine using software innovations

Thermaiscan is a software company within the predictive medicine field, founded in Sweden. Our mission is to solve the problem of late detection of breast cancer development. Early detection saves lives.

Thermaiscan’s innovation is a breast cancer pre-screening solution based on inhouse developed AI, combined with thermal sensors integrated in smartphones. The goal is to support B2B health units – such as mini-clinics, primary care and rural healthcare non-specialists – with the ability to perform breast cancer pre-screening and detect breast abnormalities in early stages. Finding breast cancer early is strongly correlated with better survival chances. Thermaiscan’s approach with a portable, affordable and non-toxic breast cancer pre-screening solution have gained traction and been rewarded in both India and Singapore.

Our vision is to have the innovation acting as a complement to current screening methods in the hands of first-line healthcare non-specialist workers.

AI will not replace human specialists, Dr’s or healthcare personell. Humans in healthcare who uses AI will replace the ones who dont use – this is our five cents about the future. AI and thermal technology is like the fish in the water, a perfect combination that outperformes human eye analysis of thermal image.

Collaboration with key healthcare actors in India

Breast cancer accounts for 8.2% of total cancer cases in India. The problem is growing and the need for technology tackling this is big. There are many devoted people and organizations working together to solve this problem.
